The legends tell of the mythical castle under the name of Villa Sofia, home of royalties, princes and princesses, who used to keep their youth, beauty, seductress and grace by producing a secret enchanted revitalizing drink from the magical grapes from the vineyards surrounding the castle. This mystical drink possessed healing incantation and helped the majesties that lived in Villa Sofia use its magic of healing and longevity reach the dreams of allureness, everlastingness, elegance and beauty.

Villa Sofia wine series was inspired by the legend of those royalties’ desire of eternal beauty and timelessness by combining the highest quality wine grapes on our lands, best modern wine production practices and the endless love for quality, distinguishable and memorable wines crafted by our winemakers.

Cabernet Sauvignon

Winemaking:

The harvest is done manually. The grapes are sorted out, de-stemmed and separated from the clusters. This is followed by pre-fermentative cold maceration. The alcoholic fermentation takes place in stainless steel fermenters. The lactic acid fermentation takes place in French and Hungarian barrels.

Tasting Notes:

The wine is characterized by an intense red color with a violet tint. The aroma is intense, combining red and black berries, elegant wood and spice nuances. The body is balanced, sweet, with an inviting taste aroma and a soft finish. It combines well with aged cheeses, game meat, spicy pasta or red meats.

Merlot

Winemaking:

The harvest is done manually. The grapes are sorted out, de-stemmed and separated from the clusters. This is followed by pre-fermentative cold maceration. The alcoholic fermentation takes place in stainless steel fermenters. The lactic acid fermentation takes place in French and Hungarian barrels.

Tasting Notes:

The wine is characterized by an intense purple color with an aroma that combines ripe red fruits with noble wood. The body is harmonious and juicy, saturated with a soft and warm taste aroma and long-lasting aftertaste. It combines well with pasta, cheese and beef.

Chardonnay

Winemaking:

The harvest is done manually. The grapes are stemmed and separated from the clusters. An infusion takes place at low temperature. This is followed by separation of the solid particles and clarification of the grape must. The alcoholic fermentation takes place in rust proof fermenters.

Tasting Notes:

The wine is characterized by an medium yellow  color. Concentrated and harmonious aroma of citrus, peach, vanilla and toast. The balanced and elegant taste, including volume, softness, citrus freshness and an intense flavor aroma, leads to a long and attractive aftertaste. It is well combined with aged cheeses, fish dishes, white meats, as well as warm salads.

Winemaking:

This rose wine is characterized by a light salmon pink color, with discreet aroma reminiscent of vanilla and red berries. Juicy flavor aroma, with a harmonious body and a refreshing, longlasting finish. It combines well with fruit, citrus salads and desserts.
